چکیده
The activation of small molecules by silylenes bearing unique electronic properties has been well established in the past few decades. Here, we disclose reactivity study acyclic imino(silyl)silylene 1 with an N-heterocyclic imine ligand (NHI) towards various molecules. Silylene undergoes facile gaseous like dihydrogen, ethylene, and carbon dioxide. While cycloaddition carbonyl compounds to was shown as a straightforward synthetic approach oxasilacycles, reaction silane borane led corresponding E−H (E=Si, B) insertion products. Moreover, heavier chalcogens allow isolation neutral three-coordinate silicon-heavier chalcogen double bond complexes.

Small molecules reveal an alternative mechanism of Bax activation.
The pro-apoptotic protein Bax commits a cell to death by permeabilizing the mitochondrial outer membrane (MOM). To obtain small-molecule probes for elucidating the molecular mechanism(s) of Bax activation, we screened for compounds that induced Bax-mediated liposome permeabilization. We identified five structurally different small molecules that promoted both Bax targeting to and oligomerizatio...
متن کاملUranium-mediated activation of small molecules.
Molecular complexes of uranium are capable of activating a range of industrially and economically important small molecules such as CO, CO(2), and N(2); new and often unexpected reactions provide insight into an element that needs to be well-understood if future clean-energy solutions are to involve nuclear power.
متن کاملApplications of Small Molecules in Muscle Tissue Engineering
Introduction: Skeletal muscles account for about 40% of the total body weight. Every year, hundreds of people lose at least part of their muscle tissue due to illness, war, and accidents. This can lead to disruption of activities such as breathing, movement, and social life. To this end, various therapeutic strategies such as medication therapy, cell therapy and tissue transplantation have been...
